Just as its predecessor, Archetypes Of Death In Formless Voids came to life as a live session of guitar improvisation. Conceived as an instrumental track, the sections that make up the song were composed and played with a downturned guitar and loads of reverb. The rest of the instruments (drums, bass, cello, and saxophone) were added during the final stages of production, as well as the growled vocals in the second half.

In the same vein as DRRGXCIV's first record, Archetypes Of Death In Formless Voids was born from the need to create songs in a less planned and more spontaneous form, without the limitations of genre labels.
